Default 35 gal. tank swap questions

I'm looking to exchange my 27 gal. tank with the optional 35 gal. one.

Has anyone done this?

i was thinking of doing the same thing. haven't really researched it, but in laying under the truck, i noticed that there is room next to the so that a longer tank can fit. it made me think that dodge just put the smaller tank on the quads to keep payload higher??

dont call me out if im wrong but i heard somewhere that you cant mess with the fuel system like adding a bigger tank becuase its the law but that might be in CA. I think I heard it on Trucks or something.

i didn't think the 35 gallon would fit on short beds, I have the 35 gallon tank in my longbed, and it takes up almost all the room under the bed on the fuel side from the bedrail to the rear axle

but that's with a regular cab right? quad cab short bed is the same wheelbase as reg cab long bed.

That would be nice. I take lots of long trips so a 35 gallon tank would be nice.

I have been thinking about getting one that looks like a truck box but i havent looked into it yet.

It was an option on my 2005 according to the dealer brochure.

I tried to look on the dodge.com config site to see if it was an option. The 34 gallon tank is an option on the 1500 QC shot bed 4x4. However I did not try every combination of engine and such.

I also have the smaller tank on my 08 and remember rolling under the truck and wondering if it would be worth the upgrade. I also wondered if some setting in the computer might need to be changed when adding the larger tank. the larger tank (I imagine) might effect the trip computers DTE tracking.
