Default Computer tuning ?

How does this work, do you buy a superchip 3815, plug it in, send new programming, then you are done. If so, does someone have one I can borrow? lol Or, is this something that has to be plugged in all the time and constantly monitored? Do you have to be a genius mechanic to use it, or is it idiot proof?

It's pretty much idiot proof, but only works on one VIN # at a time, so even though it gets unplugged after programming, someone would have to return their truck to stock to let you borrow it. I've returned mine to stock and installed it on friends Hemi trucks twice now. Both bought one shortly after I took mine back...

Is this worth getting, do they make that much of a difference, and what is the best one to get?

Ithink that the Superchipsis totally worth getting as long as you don'tpayfull price. Try ebay or the classifieds on here. I got mine off ebay for under $200 and they are always listed on there.

I've seen dynos on a bunch of Rams up through the 06s and the Superchips Flashpaq has the best gains of all the "canned" tuners. I highly recommend it for a stock or mildly modded truck.
The highest gains currantly attainable is using the SCT with it's custom tune capability. But unless you are highly modified (headers, cam, heads, etc.) you are not going to get the best of it's capabilities.
