Nope, other way around. Buy the 3715 and download the 3815.

I have the 3815 and I got it used for 300.00 CAD which might not seem good to you guys, but its hard to find good and cheap parts in Ontario.

I put my "Flashpaq 3815" in last weekend and all I can say is WOW!! You will notice the biggets difference if your running 91-93 octane, I set the "REV LIMITER" to 6500 rpm's and my "Shiftpoint" to 6200 rpm's, it increased my milage about 2 mpg, but added alot more torque and Horse power, I don't even have a CAI in yet, but that will be here tomarrow. I have been trying like crazy to get a "RAMHAMMER" CAI I have even talked to Scott himself at Hammer Automotive Inc. He said that they won't start production for at least 3 more weeks, and the carbon fiber "Ramhammer" won't go into production until December, I have my name in for the carbon fiber "Ramhammer" once they start shipping in January. So in the mean time I ordered the "Airraid" CAI, I will run that until I get The "Ramhammer" then sell the "Airraid". Besides the "Flashpaq" the only other performance mod I have done is install "Trueflow" dual exhaust with chrome turn down tips that come out just below the rear bumper each one about 18" off the center of the hitch, I must say that it sounds awsome in combination with the "Flashpaq", now I can't wait to get the CAI put in.

The lastest update for the 3815 adds all the previously covered gas engines to the 3815. I bought a used 3815 that was good for '04-'07 Hemi and since updating it, it now covers '98-'08 dodge gas trucks (no V10 or '04+ 4.7L). I would think you should be able to pick up a used 3815 and do the same so it covers your truck. You might be able to track down a 3715 for a little cheaper but if any of the extras (like data logging) work on your truck, it's worth getting the 3815.

I see you asked about the crank sensor mod in the second gen section. The mod is you take out the sensor and slot the bolt holes to allow the sensor to moved a little. If done in the right direction it should advance your timing a little and compensate for some of the timing that Dodge took out in the "death flash". I did this mod and got a superchips 3715 and it helped my truck.

The good part about the mod is it's free, the bad part is your playing with one of your sensors and it's a little difficult to get at.

Here's a pic of the sensor out and the holes slotted.
