Question Will 35s fit a 2005 1500?

Hsa anyone put 35s on their 2005 4x4 1500 without a lift kit? I am putting a leveling kit on the front end, but am not sure if I need to stick with 33s or if a 35 tire will work. I was looking at a set of TrXus MT 33 or 35x12.50R17. Alternate was a set of Toyo MT 295x70R17, which local tire company said will fit no problem without a lift.

35's will fit with just a level kit if they are no more than 12.5" wide and you have a bit of backspacing in the wheels.
However, and I know this because I put a set of keys on a friends '05 4x4, if you do any serious off roading, they will hit on occasion. If you are the off-road type, you may be better off with the 33's. Also if you really load down the bed you'll have an issue on bumps and holes. But for everyday driving you'll not have an issue. It's your call...

Thanks!!!!!!! I was looking at maybe a Toyo MT 295 as it's 34". I'm afraid 33s just won't look big enough, but I will be off-road, so maybe a small body lift?

I got 295 toyo ats on 17's, No torsion crank, just stock ride height. I dont know how close my rims are to stock ones though. Im leaning more towards a 35 and torsion bar crank.

33's will look ok with just a level kit, however I think you're on the right track with a Toyo (great tire btw), that measures just over 34". When compared to a 35" tire it'll give you just that extra inch for flex off road.
Whether you do the body lift or not, you'll want to level the front as a body lift kit will lift the whole truck a uniform 3", you'll still have that nose down "rake" look.
Do the level kit and the Toyo's and if you're not satisfied, you can always add the body lift later...

Default Thx for the replies!

Pictures were a big help. Thx everyone, I think the 295s win. 35s look really nice, but I just don't want to chance rubbing and not really wanting to do a lift right now. Hopefully the Toyo will handle as well as the TrXus in ice/snow.

So what makes them rub? I assume the extra width? My stock 265s are 10.8" wide and 35s are what, like close to 13" actual? I wonder if a 285/75R18 would clear? - it is 35.1" tall, but only 11.6" wide.
