I've looked all over the net and through the owners manual and can't find what the redline is on my 2004 1500 w/the 3.7L 5speed. Any ideas? Maybe because I'm color blind, but I can't make out where the cut off is on the tach, and the only answer I've seen on the net is 7000k, which seems REALLY high. Thanks for any help.

 

well i just went and looked at my 02 3.7 5-spd hoping to help you out....but i cant oddly enough...it doesnt show a "redline" so to speak of on my tach. i usually keep it between 3500 and 5000....that's where the power band is. sorry i couldnt be of any more help

 

Yea, same here. It's screaming at 5k, I couldn't imagine 7k. I was just curious...

 

I think it's somewhat common for non-sporty vehicles to have no redline as the computer just cuts ignition and fuel when the engine is spinning fast enough.

 

It will most likely have a preset limit on the RPM's. It's not lower than 6K though. If it is, it would be lower than any 6-cylinder I've ever seen.

 

I went and got a little froggy on my truck the other day when it was wet out....its bounced off the rev limiter at 6300.
