Default Custom Sub Box for 02 QC 1500.

i got bored the other day and decided to throw a single 10 in my quad cab. didn't want to do the normal, under the seat setup, so i mounted it in between the front and rear seats. the front armrest still folds all the way forward. it's exactly .9 cu ft. bottom is made of 3/4" MDF and with 5 layers of glass on it. it's not perfect, but i ran out of time to finish smoothing the surface... it'll be refinished in a couple of weeks when i have time. the top is colormatched to the exterior color of the truck and the bottom is sprayed with bedliner.

everything was made using just an 18v jigsaw, 18v drill, and an 18v da sander.

this is the first sub box i built using glass, all the rest in the past were made of MDF and in my garage back in NC where i have a full wood working station. I'd say it's not bad for 2 days with barely any tools.

here are the pictures.

i've got 2 more 10" subs laying around from my other car that i'm going to glass in under the rear seats and will either paint them to match or do a carbon overlay on them and build a flush mount amp rack under the rear seat also.

next project is the front doors to fit a set of 3-way components. 8", 3.5", and 1" in the front doors and 6.5" components in the rear doors. anyone know a good place to get cheap door panels for the project?

mmstar23 you gotta post some pics of that box... Der Schatten look at LMC Truck for replacement door pannels... don't know if they are "cheap" but they are there.

a lot of hand sanding... roughly 5 hours shaping it the way i wanted. i jumped on it to make sure it was strong enough too
