Question...
Well Im finally getting parts in for the truck, I ordered a set of Borla Headers, 4.56 gears, and a hood about a week ago and have got the gears and headers today. Opened everything up to make sure everything was there, and for the headers pulled out the instruction manual to see how hard they were going to be to put in and found a a warning lable in very large print right on top that said these headers are for racing purposes only and are not street legal in any state. I went to the Borla site and they didn't say anything about them not being street legal or for racing purposes only... So now Im curious, will putting them on anyways hurt my truck any? Is that warning on all new headers? I mean if they wont hurt anything Im using them regardless, just curious though...
My Pacesetters came with the same warning, the govt. makes them with LT's because they do not meet CARB specs for emissions. No negatives at all as far as the truck goes, only positives in the performance and under hood temp depts.
However, if your state has emissions checks, you will fail. Which IMO is stupid, because I, for example, retained my stock cats & sensors and get NO CEL! Just simply moved the cats back enough to allow for the length of the headers. But, according to CARB, relocated cats are just as much a no-no as no cats...
BTW: Does this mean when you are done with the mods, we may actually see the truck in the sig.?

yeah yeah yeah... I guess after Im done I'll put a pic in my sig.
As far as emissions they do tests but not on the newer vehicles. I think its 02' and up which dont require them...
