Default Motor swap

just a little personal interest, but does anyone know what the largest displacement engine that could fit into the 3rd gen ram, and still be a daily driver.

"daily driver" is such a relative term. Heck you could put a blown 540 hemi in and still drive it to the grocery store...for a price. There are lots of things you could do to the stock hemi that wouldn't cost you your first born though. Do some searching around the site for ideas.

I'm wondering if you installed a 6.1 short block but kept the 5.7 engine controls (with a chipped or custom computer) if it would work ok....
