Default Squealing Noise Need Help

I have a 2003 1500 and when i start the engine it makes a squealing noise for about 2 seconds while the rpms go up then back down to idle. If i take the belt off and start it without it, there isn't any noise. I think it might be coming from the water pump and fan area but i'm not sure. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Its also possible you may need a new belt, If you do decide to try that first, get a gatorback. Its also possible its the tensioner pulley that keeps the belt tight.

my first thought was the tensioner pulley so i replaced that already and now i have changed the belt but it still does it every now and then. Is it possible that it is some bearings in one of the other pulleys?

Cheapest bet is to get an Auto-Mechanics stethoscope and search around any and all sites you suspect till you hear the noise the loudest. There cheaper than just guessing and replacing parts.......Hey side benefit is we can then call you Dr. bedo03

Most the time if you vary the idle a little you will be able to duplicate the issue you have. If bearings are going out in something they should be making a roaring noise and when you take the belt off you will notice the pully doesn't move smooth. Do it with the ac both on and off.
