Sorry i searched but could not find anything with my situation. Ive owned 4 four cylinders in my driving career and my new 4.7 is making me worry about everything. It has 19k on it and its a 05 quad cab 4x4. Im changing the oil filter too but already put a cai on it so air filter is good. I live in Arkansas so i would like to know the best weight and is it ok to go synthetic on a v8? I only drive about 100 miles a week and all highway miles so any feed back would be awesome!

I use a good synthetic in all my trucks, personally I use Mobile 1 because it easy to find. My 4.7 uses 5w-30, my 5.7 uses 5w-20.
For the sake of all that is holy, do not use a Fram oil filter. This is a good article

I live in a colder enviroment, winters can hit -30C, with a synthetic oil, you do not have a brief period of the engine running with no oil circulation. You will also feel the difference in power the first time you switch.
Hope this helps
