Default 05 Ram 1500 won't turn over. no door chime

I tried to start my 05 ram and when I turned the key the starter would not engage. I have plenty of battery plus we tried a jump. I noticed I did not have the usual door open chime when I put the key in the ignition with the door open. I swapped the relays and checked for voltage on the starter lead when cranking. I found no power going to the starter on cranking. I tried to start in neutral, no luck. I checked all my fuses, no problems. Then all of the sudden, she decided to start again and I also noticed the door open chime returned at the same time . I've read another post saying there is a chip in my key that is causing a SKIM problem, but my key has no chip. Is this an ignition switch issue?

Is your key grey or black? if it is gray, it has a chip in it. If not, you may have a ignition swich problem.

id say its a the ignition switch, ive seen alot on fords around that time but not so many dodges. If so it will continue to get worse like the steering wheel will lock and the key wont turn to past the on position.

Should I be looking at the actual key tumbler switch or the ignition switch?
