2006 4.7l Ram won't idle
Last week I ran out of gas. Had to get a ride to the gas station to buy a can of gas. Don't know if running out of gas has anything to do with my issue, but thought I'd mention it anyway.
When I got my truck running again the check engine light was on, and stayed on all the way home (about 30 miles). The next time I went out later that day, the check engine light was not on, and hasn't been on since.
Today I had to run to Walgreens. When pulling out of the parking spot, I put my truck in reverse, looked behind me, stepped on the gas....and didn't go anywhere. Looked at the tach and realized that I stalled. Started it up and it immediately stalled again. Was able to make it home by keeping the RPM's up and slamming it into drive, but it would stall anytime I coasted. The check engine light was on the whole time too.
I've reviewed the forums and based on what I've read so far, a bad TPS seems the likely culprit but I wanted to see what you guys thought. Also, could running out of gas have done anything?

Is it throwing codes? Also check the battery voltage ( take it to the parts store to have it tested for free). If the battery voltage drops to under voltage set point it will stall. Keeping RPMs up the alternator will keep up. My old truck and my wife's Honda did it when the battery lost a cell. Hope this helps and good luck
