Default 06 5.7L hemi in an 2003 truck

I have an 03 hemi 2500 with high mileage and found a great deal on a 06 1500 hemi with 19K miles with trans, and transfer case. I know that in 06 the 1500 went to the MDS system. With that being said is the 2006 engine the same just the electronics different?

The coils are different, they got rid of the wasted spark design (the spaghetti mess) and went with a consolidated dual plug coil on each cylinder. I know you can adapt to the new setup, or install your old coils and valve covers (those are different too). Also, the biggie, the whole valvetrain is different. 03-05 hemis in trucks don't have all the solenoids, collapsible lifters, etc., that make up an MDS engine. I know you can retrofit the older stuff into it, I just don't know if the extra oil passages for that stuff will be a problem or not (I'm sure someone will say).
