squeaking

Default squeaking

ok i got a 2002 dodge ram sport. the other day i noticed a squeaking sound when driving. i noticed it again. anyways its usually when my truck is bouncing like on a bump or when im turning left...but the sound is coming from the rear right. anybody got any suggestions on what it might be?

I had the exact issue years ago (early 90's) on my brand new dakota. The dealer shimmed the bed and the squeak went away forever. I don't really understand how it helped, but it did. Good luck. Red

wut do u mean shimmed? im not very auto knowledgeable. just wondering if i did this how much it would cost? and what exactly does that do?

Like I said, I don't know how they did it, but it worked and I owned the truck for about seven years after that and never had a problem with it. Red

shimming is pretty much sticking something in to fill in a gap

if the mount that the bed is on is a little too thin, or if the bed has some deflection in it that causes it to lift off of the frame, they probably jammed something in there to fill in the gap.
