Default tailgate

Well long story short, my tailgate has a huge dent and I want to replace it. I was looking at this. http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/de...QQD580503.html

It's just the bare tailgate, What does it consist of and is it just the skin or can I literally change out all the hardware and bolt it right on. I heard somewhere that its just a skin with no metal bracing. Also has anyone delt with this website, is it reliable? I asked a shop to see if they can repair the damage and they want more than a new tailgate.

If it was me I would click on the "contact us" link under customer service and ask them straight up. I have never delt with that web site personally but looks to me like they are easy to return stuff to if you are not satisfied with the item. Have you looked on E-Bay for the part? Try PARTS-SERVICE, a member of this site, he may be able to get you what you want at a deal.

Hey Welcome to the Tailgate dent club, dented mine when I tried to lower the tailgate past the cable stops........BIG MISTAKE. Darn thing hits the bumper, and is made of thick paper. I pulled mine out with the Paintless dent kit that uses Hot Glue link http://www.dentout.net/specials.htm It worked like a charm, and there fairly cheap.

Oh and yea on my 2008 there is an internal brace that runs Horizontally (of course it was above my dent)

Hope that helps

well lucky for me I backed into something with the tailgate down and it hit the top left corner mangling the metal and ripped off a good amount of paint so paintless dent removal is no option. I was going to try to fix it myself becuase I can get the right tools but I really dont want to take the time. Ill try calling the place to see what it is all about.

I purchased a aftermarket exhaust for my Jeep from them and they were reliable and fast shipping, use their online agent and talk to them, they also took a bit off the price when I pushed.
