~~~need input~~~
So i have a 2006 ram 1500 hemi QC I started having problems with my Cruise Control Shutting off when i would use the "accel" button or would try to accelerate using the foot pedal and would get absolutely no response.
Anyway i turned my truck into my local dodge dealership on May 27, 2008 and they tried trouble shooting it and replacing multiple parts and taking it on long drives but with my permission to try to fix the problem...( a warrantied item) meanwhile starting in beginning of july I've been training up for Iraq w/army- so about two weeks ago they say they finally believe they have fixed it this time. practically having my vehicle the whole time (since end of May) My Dad who now is in charge of my affairs with my power of attorney says they put 4,700 miles on my vehicle and have had it for 4 months straight and a couple weeks here and there between Oct 2007 to may 2008 for a total of 4 months and 3 weeks in which i've been still paying my monthly payment of $680/month.
I met with the Area Rep/manager to resolve this thing and also try to get some money back but i met him back in the beginning of august not then knowing how many miles total they had racked up on my truck. I figure it would be fair to get the 4 months and 3 weeks worth of payments back since i wasn't able to even drive my truck during that time... they were. the area manager said at the time that they would either reimburse me for the payments or extend my warranty how ever many miles they put on but not both. I believe that's a bunch of **** i think it would be fair to reimburse me my monthly payments, and pay me for miles (wear and tear) on my truck. Pay me the nations set amount for mileage which is 58.5 cents per mile.
It's really sucked *** to go through this with Dodge and all the hassles i've been through with them and my truck. I got my dream truck brand new and straight from the Factory and all it's been for me is a nightmare. I've experienced other problems with my vechicle as well. 1. Throttle stuck wide open on two different occassions 2. Engine has shut off on me on 3 different occassions while backing out of a parking spot 3. when backing up on one occassion truck would not move, gave it gas and then it sounded like something broke loose (loud metal clunk) and my whole truck jolted 4. when shifting back into "Park" transmission Clunks really loud and i can feel a jolt underneath my feet... in the transmission.... the list goes on
Oh so im wondering if anyone has heard of Dodge actually making a good deal with anyone or if they would if they were to receive negative repsonses from the media cause that's my next "GO TO" and i'd hate to do that but i don't deserve getting screwed like this with a piece of crap truck and their service. There's alot more to my dilemna here but it would take way too long to write it out here so anyway i'm signing off for the night. Let me know, if anything... any ideas or input you all have.
i realize they need to test drive it on the highway to test the tranny and cruise issue... but 4700 miles???? that's outrageous.... sounds like someone there was using Your vehicle as their own personal vehicle...
First, Thank you for your service!
Wow! 1200 miles/month; 300miles/week; 60miles/day(5 days); someone enjoyed your truck at your expense. I'd definitely protest to the General Manager, Service Manager and Factory Rep TOGETHER for a pow-wow.
Make sure the service department has all of your troubles documented as most, if not all would be covered under the warranty. Many states have a lemon law on the books -- look into your state's laws.
