synthetic oil???
I know that there are numerous posts and arguments about which synthetic oil is the best. I have read through many of those post and don't want to start those debates again. I have a few very specific questions that have nothing to do with the different brands. I plan on changing my oil every 3-4K miles in order to not void my lifetime warranty. With that in mind here are my questions:
Is the only advantage of synthetic oil that it lasts much longer than conventional oil? Or is the lubrication better from the beginning?
Is there any advantage of synthetic over dino oil in 3000 miles?
At what mileage should I do my first oil change regardless of oil type? (right now I am at 1,000)
Thank you very much for your time.

doing an early oil change for your first is not necessary, but it can only help.
synthetics are known to have more detergents, have more/better additives to keep them from foaming, suspend particles better, provide better lubricty, and often increase engine efficiency.

If you want to use synthetic, you're not going to hurt anything. However, because you have the lifetime warranty, you do need to change frequently, so you're basically missing out on one of the advantages of synthetic, which is an extended drain interval.
Synthetic is a better oil, no doubt, but honestly, if you're not pushing forced induction (turbo / supercharging), extended drain intervals, or extremely cold weather, dino is going to be perfectly sufficient.
For a 3000-4000 oci (oil change interval) synthetic is overkill.
Also, I recommend the first change at 1000 miles. I didn't do my first change until 2000, but that's only because I was in the middle of a huge road trip.
