MDS and sound question
ok, i know there are like a billion exhaust questions on here, but i've been himming and hauing over which exhaust to get. i searched the forum, but really didn't find anything that would answer my question. i would like to get the same exhaust that i had on my '05 4.7, which was a magnaflow single in, single out. it sounded great on the 4.7, but my new '08 has a hemi with mds. i am worried that if i get the same exhaust, it'll sounds like crap with the mds. i am also thinking that i sould keep the stock exhaust because i know that they are specifically designed for the mds. i just want to get the engine breathing better and get some more power out of the hemi, plus i want it to sound as good at my old ram. HELP!

I have a single in/out magna and it sounds good even in MDS...to me anyway. It doesn't sound like a regular 4 banger or anything...it's still a deep sound it's just not as smooth and the sound pulses are more spaced apart. I left the front resonator on to help with any drone in the cab..
you may also feel the mds go in and out more than you would with the stock exhaust.
It's not doing it more you just may notice it more. but you may not like the drone noise when you are driving down the road. If you can try to drive one that has been changed before you do yours.

MWAHAHAHA That MDS bump... funny I was thinking about this tonight on my way home lol
What I did was installed a Maximizer intake system on my '08 and if you wanna talk about a truck breathing better... Whoa... The throttle response is sensational, and it bought me 15HP. I've had it in there for 2 months, and of everything I've done that my fiance groans about... the Maximizer is one she swallows her words over :P Of course I had some explaining to do on the exhaust when I rolled up to pick her up and she heard me rumbling down the block! MWAHAHAHA

I have removed both resonators and muffler and installed a flowmaster. I don't really hear the drone people are talking about and when the MDS kicks in it reminds me of a jake brake on a big diesel just not nearly as loud. I have an 07 Charger with the HEMI and when I took the resonators off of it the DRONE WAS HORRIBLE!!! I ended up putting the resonators back on and removed the muffler completely...sounds MUCH better like that.
