How do you ID "With Tow Package??"
#12
Towing, isn't everything...
Tow kit:
Heavy duty battery.
Extra Tranny cooler (if automatic).
draw bar under bumper (square receiver)
7 pin socket on bumper with 4 pin flat under bumper.
If you do not have the draw bar under the bumper, you don't have the towing package... if you do, you MAY NOT have the towing package. If you have all of the above, you either A) have the original towing package, or B) someone has upgraded you so that you have the equivalent of a towing package.
PS: Taller gears help as well. My 2500 is quoted at 8750lbs towing with the Class IV receiver, and weight distributing hitch (and 3.73 axle ratio)... if I had the 4.10 axle ratio, it'd be rated for 10,500lbs. Go figure (wouldn't want to try close to either). Remember you mileage may vary (lots). Especially while towing.
