Default Stereo and cig. lighter power shutting off.

Hey guys,

What a helpful site!

Well when i bought my truck a few weeks ago (03 QC 4x4 Hemi) it had a few problems. One was the squeaking which i have in another thread and is currrently being fixed. Now my cig lighter plug and stereo will loose power out of no where then come back on in 10 mins or something, or when i shut it off for a bit. Its doing it more frequently now.

Before it only did it when i had the A/C on full fan.

Any ideas??

you might want to get your alternator looked at... a buddy of mine had a problem kinda like that with his 05 and it ended up being the alternator

Ya my meter works fine and i just turned it on and everything is working fine now, how much do the alternators go for? I havent had a truck in a while i have no idea. Do they put more "beefed" up ones in these trucks because they have towing packages?

im not sure i know i have 2 options to go with on mine one is alittle over $100 plus core and the other is alittle over $200 plus core. this was at autozone... i was looking up one bc my truck meter is running alittle higher then it used to. but i was told that those meters suck by a mechanic i know and that its not the most reliable. best bet to take it off and take it into auto zone and have them test it on there machine for free
