Need Trans Expert Advice
Recently had my transmission fluid changed (38000 miles), or as my friendly mechanic called it, "service flush". Because they said my mileage was low, they did not change my filter, said it would be cleaned out by the flushing activity. Since then, I have noticed that my RPMs are about 200-300 higher at whatever highway speed I am at,(40-65 mph), prior to the MDS kicking in. Truck is running fine and haven't noticed any difference in it's performance except lower MPG. Most of my miles are highway and I've never paid attention while driving in town. I have doubled checked the trans level and it's OK. I also had them change my torque converter fluid also. I'm pretty sure they used the correct fluid type for both. They are good people and know their stuff. They make my local Dodge Dept look like a bunch of Jiffy Lube *****. Any ideas what would cause this? Tanx
