I can kind of see what youre saying.

Just comparing the 09 to the 06-08's, the headlights look smaller on the 09, just like how the 02-05 had smaller headlights than the next 3 years. The grill kind of has that tweeked out version of the early 3rd gen's as well....

 

The lights look fordish to me...and the grill being pushed back on the bottom reminds me of someone that has their jaw too far back in proportion to their nose. It just looks weird from the side..

Other than that the hood and the rear looks sweet!!

 

The only thing I do not like about the front vs the 3rd GEN is the fact the grill stays in place when opening the hood. It makes it harder to work on.

 

yeap, i see it, and i like it. i like the old 3rd gen look better, and now my 'old' truck looks new again.

the grill doesn't go up with the hood?? that's just dumb.

 

I def prefer the 06-08 front headlights, but can not stand the taillights on them!

 

I like the new front end...to me it somewhat resembles the charger style.

 

if im not mistaken, the 06 still has the older look of the 3rd gen on the tail lights, while the 07 and 08 have those weird circles on them. Which that i think looks a bit gaudy.

 

I think you are right, and I don't like the spoiler on the back either. IMO, a truck is meant to have a sprayed in bedliner in it and you can't do it to the tailgate b/c they drilled the holes way too low!

 

Ditto. I think the round taillights make it look like a chevy truck. The interior of the 09 looks like a ford interior.
