I have a good relation with a local repair shop that sells Coopers. I'm hoping he can get me a good deal when they become available.

I'm willing to bet that your local tire guy cannot even compare to Discount Tire Direct or Tire Rack for tire prices!!!
The Cooper Zeon LTZ's were origionally made specifically for Discount tire. I have since seen them pop up here and there at onlin retailers, but nobody local had them.

While pricing these out, I was also debating on a det of Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors. Heard some bad things bout them, but anyways, local tire place wanted $299 a piece mounted/balanced. That was the best rate around. Tire rack was selling them for $185 shipped to my door. That same tire place tat wanted $299 would mount/balance them for $20 a tire. That's a savings of $400 PLUS NO SALES TAX on the tire purchase. PLUS no tire disposal fee on the tires!!! Sales tax here in NY would be $100. So I would have saved $500 buying online and having a local shop mount them.

this may be slightly off topic, but i continually have this problem. With the stock tires on the 20", whenever i go offroading i tend to get rocks or grass in between the bead and the tire goes flat the next day. Does anyone else have this problem as well? and second part....does the ltz have a rim guard on them or bead protection?

.

Really? Made for Discount Tire? I didn't know that. That is why I will shop around and get prices from more than one place.

gmbymn948, Found on Cooper website:

a rubber rim protector extends beyond the rim flange and decreases the chance of rim damage that can occur if a tire/wheel assembly scuffs a curb.
