Stupid dodge
Hey guys i have a 2004 1500 4x4 with the famous hemi 50000 miles on truck 18000 miles on second motor first one sucked a valve now the new one is ticking it goes away with a little throttle but when back to idle a minute later it starts ticking is this normal? or maybe it may be a cummins and i didnt know it
My 2003 ticks away too. I think its normal but it has been suggested that a switch to a good synthetic oil will cure it.....I will be changing my oil this weekend before I haul my boat to Florida and I will let you know if it works

Although, if you had a diesel engine and didnt know it somehow, you would definitely have found out the first time you filled it up. haha
im thinking maybe you need cooler plugs, or try a tank of of 93 octain gas
I myself am curious as to what the 'tick' sounds like...
myself I'm pushin the 4.7 and my brother has the hemi, his engine doesnt tick, i kind of want it to now so i can hear it. ha!

hey thanks guys i always run 92+ octane i live in az so i run valveoline 5-30 in winter and 10-30 in summer took it to dodge today they say that its one of the cleanest engines they have seen {because its the wifes truck} they said its fine. To me it almost sounds like i can hear the crank turning. I also have headers and it has a smoother idle than stock does anybody on here have a supercharger on this style of truck just checkin to see if better mpg
