My choice has been the AFE High Breather: and it retains 'The Hemi-Hat'. I get no benefit from the additional noise of other choices but that is just personal preference. This system has worked very well for me for 3 years. Keep in mind though without extensive engineering and performance modifications your stock set-up will flow more air than your truck can process and may well keep more dirt out of the engine at the same time.

My 2 cents worth***

if you are trying to win races at the drag strip
don't run a filter at all
as the graph above
shows anywhere from 2 to 6 inches of water restriction
even on the best new filters

to a certain point you are correct..our engines can only flow so much air before it doesn't matter, but what is that amount?... I did the k an n dropin, the homemade cai sans hemi hat, mopar clone and then the ramhammer... each upgrade performed better then before.... what this proved to me imo was that even though our pcm's can only process so much air... that amount is more then the stock setup can give... my low and mid range performance increased exponentially since the ramhammer addition...

...it also proved to me that the Hemi hat is the biggest culprit of robbing airflow/performance... a few of us hemi guys tested this at dynos a few years ago by switchin cai's out before each run...

Well I bought this - should be here this week. Its a cheapie, but we'll see how it works.....I will post some pics and let you know.

What about the Hemi hat? Should that be scrapped? What is the deal with that thing anyway????

Thanks!
