Before you buy new shocks you should attach the stock shocks at the bottom (Im guessing you cannot screw the top of the shock to secure it) and let the truck sit. The weight of the truck should forcethe shocks up making the top bolt reachable and capatable for your setup.
Thats what happened to me with my new leveling kit. Mine was dayster but 1 1/2 inches.

The Pro Comp 3000 series shocks that are specifically for our pickups, from what I've read many times over, are about 2 inches longer than our factory shocks. They supposedly work great with the coil spacers and don't ride too bad, from what I've heard. What's even better is they're around $40 per shock! I put 2.5" coil spacers on a couple of weeks ago and will be buying these shocks soon.
