I don't believe they make an Edge for the 04. I know I have not been able to find one for my 04. Since the question is best bang for the buck, I would have to say it is superchips. Mainly because you can get one for around $200 now so if you are getting 25 hp from the Superchips you would have to be getting well over 50 hp out of any of the tuners that cost over $400 to be getting a better value for your dollar and I haven't seen any programmers claiming that much of a gain. Now if you start modding you engine more heavily some of the other tuners become better values but for a basic bolt on engine, Superchips is the way to go.

That is way too much. You should not be paying more than $250 for a Superchips. Just buy a used one, it is exactly the same as a new one just much cheaper. If you want I can tell you where to find some in the $250 range, just PM me.

Just make damn sure you have some recourse if the original owner did not return his truck to stock with it, otherwise you are going to have a $250 useless piece of plastic...

...yup all things considered...because of the slew of used flashpaqs gettin ready to sell (from $200 to $275), I'd say the superchips flashpaq is the way to go... I have one of the fastest na qc's around and am using the flashpaq. I'm upgrading to the diablo because I'm heavily modded and need custom tuning...if all you have is simple bolt on stuff all the way up to where I'm at, the Flashpaq is more then enough...

with a little E85 blended in for leaner WOt air to fuel ratio adjustment
and larger gap and indexed sparkplugs
you can probably achieve 70%
of what the best programmer can do
because in both situations
you are just
leaning the WOT air/fuel back near 12.5
and slightly advancing the 'real world' ignition timing up about 5 degrees

you can expect 30% loss in mpg when using e85. the same goes for hp. So how can you achieve anything close to what a progammer can do. Also you take the time to make all the adjustments that you are saying what happens if you want to run it as a stock setup.
