Default Lift Question

I just got my first dodge ram in June for my birthday. I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Quad Cab and I am looking to lift my truck and i want to do a 6" suspension lift from fabtech. Should i go with 35" or 37" tires. Also should i go with Nitto Mud Grapplers or Toyo Open Country M/t tires?

35's will look a little bit small...but you will have some flex room. 37's would fill it in more and might rub a lil...dont know and im not sure someone will have to check me on that. 35's will be cheaper ha

Welcome to DF. Congrats on the Ram. I would go with the 35's on a smaller wheel. That will make the tires cost less. I like the Toyo M/T's.

The Fabtech 6" kit for the '02-'05 Dodge 1500 torsion bar 4x4s provides about 5.5" of lift in actuality. You need a FULL 6" to run 37's. But trust me, even if you could fit 'em, if you are gonna run it off-road much, opt for 35's on 17" wheels anyway. Some on here have 37's, like DodgeNitto, and as of yet have had no problems (I'm sure he gets away with it because he's NOT running 6" of full suspension lift). The angle is too severe for relatively weak CV axles that we have, as opposed to a solid front axle.
I'd love to go higher too, but EVERY major failure I have seen with guys off-road were IFS front end trucks with tires larger than 35"!

As far as tires go, the Nitto's will perform better in the slop, but will wear VERY quickly on pavement. If this is also your daily driver, go with the Toyo's or Mickey Thompson MTZ's...
