Default Is there a Rev Limiter on a 2004 Ram 1500?

I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7L. 170000 miles. Last week, the truck would not start. It would crank but wouldnt start. Sounded like if it was out of gas. After sitting for a day the truck started but when I would give it gas it would pulse on the RPMs. My mechanic friend told me to replace the fuel pump. So I did. Now, the truck runs fine. It shifts fine. It even starts right up. The only thing wrong is when the truck is on and in Park I rev the gas and when it hits 4000 rpm the truck starts to pulse like if it had a rev limiter. My question is " Is that normal?". I never noticed that before. I never had reved my truck up to 4000 rpm, in park.

Yup, you are stuck at 4 grand in neutral or park. Congratulations on having your ram resurrected and running strong again.
