Turbo socket snap on makes them inside of the socket looks like a cone with teeth that cut in to the bolt as you loosen it up.

After you get the bolt out REPLACE it don't laugh you be suprized how many bone head put the same stripped bolts back in.

I deal with bone heads every day that do stuff like that.

If you don't have turbo sockets try a smaller socket or boxed end wrench beat on to the screwed up bolt head with a hammer so it digs in to the old bolt with any luck you be able to get the plug out.

The rest of these things I am telling you if every things else fails set of vise grips if this dont work saw a slit across the bolt head use a large screw driver and hope for the best or a large easy out I don't like them my self if the break off inside the bolt you'r screwed this also go's for the drilling it if it break off dirlling for the easy out hole then you have to break out the high speed Carbide rotary files and go to town.

Don't beat the broken bit or easy out in farther in to the bolt you just work harden it making worse oh yea if you get to this point what every works do it.

Rule of thumb always use a 6 point socket to remove a bolt nut when ever you can it grabs all six flat side of the bolt nut ect much less chance of spining the bolt head a 12 point grabs only the cornners good chance it going to round off you'r bolt always use the correct size TOOLS This is for all tight bolts nuts ECT same thing if you going to put a lot of tourqe putting the bolts nuts ECT on the part.

12 points are great if the bolt already lose and not needing a lot of tourqe I always try to use a 6 point my self unless I don't have one at the time and it has to be done now.

8 point are for 4 sided nuts you see them every now splinned wrenches and then there standered Metric and British standered yea some got me on that one I though they were kidding me when they asked if I had any british standered tools Old TRIUMPHS British cars Rolls ect.

Ok I got one for you have you ever notice lot of you're newer Crescent Wrenches are standered on one side and you flip it over it have Metric on the other side.

you can always weld a nut or short bolt to the end of the plug and then just unscrew it

Default Welding

Welding a nut on to it will also work if you have a welder.

But heat will help alot of times with stuck bolts even a propane torch helps get things hot when backing stuck bolts out helps get then unstuck anouther trick is tighten then try to get it loose this will break tourqe on you're bolt or nut.

Im sure a muffler shop or anyplace with a welder could do it easily if the other methods dont work, might even be free if you brought your own nut lol

u am about to mention the worst tool ever....but vise grips will get that bad boy off if you haven't already. yea, it will probably mangle the nut even more, but you WILL replace it, so damaging it further more won't do any harm. rip that sumbitch off with some visegrips, go get a new plug while it drains...stick 'er back in...done
