Default speed conrtol Module

I have a 2004 ram 1500 4.7 it seems to "slip" in and out of overdrive but only at interstate speeds. I had a 2000 2500 that had this same issue and it was a speed control module. my question is where is it located and how hard is it to fix yourself? its a pretty cheap part from my understanding $50-75

Thanks

this is the place, what do you mean slipping out of OD.

the 4.7 are kinda underpowered so they do kick out of OD to get more power to climb hills, or when you are fighting the wind.

underpowered is an understatement . I use the term "slip" loosely, its not really a slip per se, any slight let up on the accelerator lets it come out of OD then it slowly goes back in. I can't use the cruise control. Just like my 2000 did. Again on the 2000 it was the speed control module, talking to the Tech at the local dealer he said that is what it sounds like in this case also. But they want you to bring it in to be fixed. If I new where it was and how easy it is to get to I can do it myself. Any ideas? It seemed to be a common problem in early 2000s. my BIL had on 01 with the same issue and another relative had the same with a 00. I've got 64,000 on this one. the 2000 had issues at 33,000

Get some lower gears and it won't kick in/out as much. My 2000 silverado 4.8L did that constantly. It was absolutely annoying.

That's why i bought a Hemi! Now I just have to wait for my tuner to get here and I can disable the MDS because that kicks in/out worse than anything. Be lucky you don't have the mds. I dunno why people want it? Go hug a tree if you like MDS. No rebuttle comments allowed...lol

Well thanks. I'll just have to take it in to have it fixed. I'm sure labor will be an arm, leg and first born.
