2003 5.7 stalling & other fun stuff
Howdy. Newbie here - 1st post.
So I've read the posts on the issue of stalling. I have a 2003 5.7 1500 quad cab, that stalls when coming to a stop. Just shudders and dies. No lights come on the display, no error codes. Truck starts fine right after.
Question - should I start at cleaning the throttle body, or should I just get it to a dealer to get settings reset?
Also - when starting the truck, most of the time the oil gauge does not operate. If I shut truck off, then restart, gauge comes to life. Could this be a possible short somewhere, or just a bad gauge?
Lemme see...what else.....When doing highway travel at about 2 hours, the engine light comes on and there is a light that flashes with a lightning bolt on it (forget what it's called). This hasn't happened since I replaced all plugs last month, and it only happened once in a while, when traveling more than 2 hours at a time.
I am not a wrench-turner by trade, but I can follow instructions and have no fear doing so.
Truck history - got it with a salvage title at 30,000miles, now has just short of 70,000. Damage was to front drivers side.
Thanks in advance for your time.
