2006 QC Clunking Front End
2006 Hemi QC, 49,000 miles. It has a rattle or clunking in the front end and a little bit of a shake when the brakes are applied. The brake thing is not all the time. The Dodge dealer said it was outer tie rod ends and replaced both of those. Problem still exists. I was reading about all of the '05 problems with this issue and it was the rack and pinion. Does the 06 have rack and pinion? I know they've made some changes to the front end suspension on these, but I don't know what the changes are. I think the brake thing is a warped rotor, but the clunking issue is pretty loud at low speeds, forward and reverse. Pavement, gravel, rock. Turning or straight. You can push up and down on the bumper and hear the noise but can't seem to locate it. I don't trust our local dealer. Any input would be appreciated.....
As a matter of fact I did, but it won't affect yours. The 06 and up have struts on the front end and Dodge put out a bad batch that would go bad at about 50,000 miles or less. That was the problem. Yours won't have struts.
