why are switching back from synth to dino anyways? you should be able to just drain and fill as if it wasa normal oil change.

It's just a Drain and Fill, but i gotta tell you....I went to synthetic after my first oil change and I think I'm gonna switch back. I have a lifetime warranty, so what's the point of spending all that money???? I'm really contemplating that! it's a point that another member brought up and makes complete sense to me. $30 vs $50 because the 5.7L oil capacity

Occasionally Advace Auto here in NY has the Mobil 1 special of 5qts and filter for $24.88, but then you still have to spend another $12 on 2 more qts.

walmart almost always has the 5 quart jugs of mobil-1 for under $30. i usually pay $40 to do an oil change for 6 quarts and a purolator pureone filter.if i buy the quarts all seperate its maybe a few bucks more. dino oil is half that to do a change (under $3 a quart) but with dino oil i would do it every 3k with synth i do it every 5000-7500. so if you add it up its about the same price in the end anyways. thats just my opinion.

Yea, I tend to agree with ****yhern, I use Royal Purple with a high quality (Wix, Mobil 1 or Purolator) filter and change it every 6k as opposed to every 3k, so the cost difference is really not a factor, plus I ain't gettin any younger so having to climb under and changing it half the time counts for something too...

I'm of the mind set of HammerZ71 using Amsoil. Besides the extended oil changes, I picked up some MPGs (well maybe a half), so over time it pays for itself. In the winter here in the northeast, there is a noticeable increase in cranking speed when it drops below freezing.

The lifetime warranty isn't on wear, it's on defect. If your bearings wear out it don't look like it's covered. I just did my first oil change, my second is gonna be mobil1
