Default Tire/Lift/Backspacing question

Alright guys, need a little help. I have an '08 2-wheel quad cab. Looking to give the truck a tougher stance. Am going to be putting a 2 1/2"f/ 1"r leveling kit on the truck. Want to go to a 35" tire on stock rims (20's).

1) will this tire fit under that leveling kit? I figure I am running a 33 now. Another inch under the wheel well with another 2 1/2" up front should be ok????

2) will there be sufficient back spacing with stock rims? Will I have to go with a spacer? I am a little nervous about spacers, but after reading some posts on here, and talking to the guys at 4 wheel parts and All out, its an option. How much of a spacer? If I have to go more than an inch, I am probably just going to have to get new rims.

Like I said, this is a 2-wheel drive, dont use it for "off-roading" other than driving through a pasture or a dirt road.

Any guys with 35's on a 2-wheel drive let me know and try to post some pics. Thanks

Yes they will fit but you have to get adapters, i just got a set 0f 305/55/20 that measure out to be 34/13.50/20s and i had to put on 1/4 spacers so they would not rub, i would imagine with 35 you will need a lot more spacing with stock wheels. use the search feature it will help you find quick answers to your questions.

2" inch spacers and your fine. i amagin your going to a 35x12.50-on a 20 or 17 inch rim . if so 2 inches of spacer will be golden . i have 33x12.50 on stock 20's with 2 inch spacers clears by 2.5 inches from the arm. but it did clear without but i wanted the stance.

I would deff not put 2 inch spacers on anything if you go that big, spend the money and buy adapters.

I went with new rims myself but if you are going the spacer/adapter route, they say adapters are the way to go.

Hey man, i've got an 08 2wd as well. I searched for weeks looking for a 2.5'' spacer. That included countless hours on the web and many phone calls to suspension manufacturers. I could not find a 2.5'' spacer. I don't believe they make one, but I may be wrong. I ended up going with the 1.5'' spacer which makes somewhat of a difference. You can see a pic of it in my sig. Mind sending me the link to the spacer you found? Be careful you're not getting a spacer for a 4wd. I called 4wheelparts.com and ordered via phone to double check a 2.5'' spacer would fit my 2wd and they verified it would. Only to get the part and realized it was for 4wd.

Baker,

Here is the link for the 2.5" spacer. This is what I am looking at getting. Going through 4 wheel parts, they have a kit that comes with a 1" block for the rear.

I will probably just break down and get new rims. I just really like the look of the stock 20's, wanted to keep them.

Thanks for all your help guys.

Yeah I went through 4 wheel parts and i got a kit with a 2.5'' spacer and a 1'' rear block. They gave me a 2.5'' spacer for a 4wd. Which at the time was the only 2.5'' spacer they had. The link you gave me was not there before. It must have been put up there within the last few weeks, because it was definitely not there when I got mine so i sacrificed for a 1.5'' spacer which clearly did not completely level it. But now it looks like they've got a 2.5'' spacer. Well despite my situation, best of luck to you! And you may want to call and order and at the same time verify it'll fit. Just an extra precaution though.
