What Remote Starters won't void warranty

Thanks for all the information on this thread, my wife really wants a command starter and I had the same question about voiding my warranty. I don't want to buy one from the dealership because of the crappy range I have on my Ram remote starter. I will be going to a mechanic in town to get a better one installed for my new Durango!

Certain changes that you might make to your truck do not, by themselves, void the warranties described in this booklet. Examples of some of these changes are:
• installing non-DaimlerChrysler Motors Company LLC ("DaimlerChrysler") parts, components, or equipment (such as a non- DaimlerChrysler radio or speed control); and
• using special non-DaimlerChrysler materials or additives.
But your warranties don’t cover any part that was not on your truck when it left the manufacturing plant or is not certified for use on your truck. Nor do they cover the costs of any repairs or adjustments that might be caused or needed because of the installation or use of non-DaimlerChrysler parts, components, equipment, materials, or additives.
Examples of the types of alterations not covered are:
• installing accessories — except for genuine DaimlerChrysler / MOPAR accessories installed by an authorized Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep dealer. Unquote.
If you have a Mopar remote start installed shortly after you buy the truck, it can be added as a dealer installed option and will be covered under the 3year/36000 mile warranty. If you wait too long after buying the vehicle to have the dealer install the remote start, it will only be covered under a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty. My 300C has a remote start and it works great. The range is from as far as I can see the car. Don't be afraid of the Mopar remote start, they work great but probally won't start your truck from a mile away. But then again I am not sure I would want to be a mile from my car when I crank it...........
