Default 4.7 2004 ideas?

I have added the AFE intake, MBRP exhaust, and the superchips 3815 performance settings and I my mpg are still 11.5 in town. I dont drive it hard. Any ideas why Im getting such poor mpg. My buddy has the same truck and the same mods and he is getting 15 mpg in town and 19 on the hiway.

check your tire pressure. the door jam may say 35 psi and the max load on tire may say 44 psi. put it in the middle at 40 or what ever middle is. less rolling resistance will improve mileage. also what gear ratio do you have? if it is the 3.55 forget mileage around town those are higway gears. could be the crap gas you are using. try a higher octane and see if it changes. i have a 2005 4.7 dak, 18/19 around town 22/23 on the highway, but there is some weight difference but not much.

have you tried doing a good tune-up ( plugs, diff fluids change, oil change, tranny fluid change)? usually helps.
