I want some input on the nitto tera grapplers as to how they handle of road. i like the tread pattern and like how they handle really good on wet roads but i want to know how they handle in mud or loose gravel. Since I will use them and I dont want to hear about id your mudding get mud tires I go maybe once a month if that but none the less I want to know from the peopl that have them if they are good off road

Terra Grapplers have a very good reputation for handling on pavement and most with them report very good performance on wet surfaces and snow.
Off-Road performance is probably at the higher end of the true A/T tire spectrum as well.
The only knocks I commonly hear on them is they are fairly noisy for an A/T tire, with noise levels on par with some of the milder M/T treads. Probably a trade off for the better than average mud performance they offer.
The other issue is don't expect them to last forever. They appear to be made of a relatively soft compound for an A/T and wear at a good bit faster rate than milder A/T offerings. Again, that's the trade off of a more aggressive trade...

I have them and will probably stick with them for the lifetime of my truck. They work very well offroad. In fact, I'm taking them back out to the desert this weekend because I just couldn't get enough of it last time.

A kid in my mother's neighborhood has a lifted Furd F250 Diesel with a set of 37" Terra Grapplers and really likes the performance of them. The truck is also his daily driver and like you, does some mild off-roading and muddin' on occasion.
Last I talked to him, he was thinking of replacing them as the tread was down about 70%, this with about 32k miles on them. 50k might be a stretch, but with proper inflation and rotation intervals 40k is probably doable.
You may want to consider a set of Toyo Open Country A/T's. Very similar tread & performance, but I think the rubber compound is slightly harder, many report a good bit more longevity than the Nitto's.
Personally, I'm a huge Mickey Thompson/Dick Cepek fan. I know many with 60k+ on the ATZ's. I have about 17k on my Cepek FCII's and they barely show any signs of wear. Traditionally I'm an M/T guy, but I've been in a situation where I am often traveling from my parents in central Fl. to my home in south/central Ga., about 360 miles each way, 80% interstate, but I co-own farm land up there where we hunt/fish and off-road. I found the FCII's had a kinda "hybrid" tread right between an A/T & M/T. I've been VERY PLEASED with them and unless my truck becomes a true weekend hunter/mudder, I'm sure when the time comes I'll get another set.
