All other things equal, MPG is 100% driving style...6000+ LB trucks are slaves to physics

when you get bigger tires, you should recalibrate your speedo. that will through things off too since your truck thinks your going slower then you actually are.

I've lost 2 mpg just letting my truck warm up for about 10-15 minutes before I goto work. It could be that oxygenated gas winter blend crap to.

Yeah, my last 2 tanks i've been averaging 13.1 mpg. Thats pretty good getting 14 going 80-85. 2 tanks ago, I got 13.5 going a constant 75 mph for 250 miles.

to get a little bit better gas mileage in the winter, try out an engine block heater. It came with mine, but I dont know if its working or not.

My 3.7L Dak got 17.5 MPG last tank; winter gas, never warming up on the way to work, sandbags in the bed...it's almost 5 MPG off it's summer average. O well, at least dino juice is under $2...I've also been winding it out to 4 grand between shifts ;D

I feel pretty sorry for you guys. If I'm easy on the throttle, like straight up p***y footing, I've seen 23 hwy mpg at 60-65. At around 70-75, I get between 19 and 20. My typical tank average is around 16. I have the 20 in wheels with 3.92 gears.

I'm with you! 10.9 urban, 13.5 freeway!!! That's being very gentle on the pedal! 02, 1500, 4x4, 5.9L, auto, quad cab, long bed. This thing has the worst freeway fuel economy of any vehicle that I have ever had in my life!

I have been told alot of this is due to the crap transmission and torque converter Dodge uses! Most autos use up aprox 70HP to drive the transmission, Dodge uses up 100HP! That really wrecks fuel economy!

One other thing, Known fact! The US has the worst quality gas in the western hemisphere and that really doesn't help either. Mind you, you do have the cheapest so you get what you pay for.

Yeah going down hill for that 23 highway. I clocked my truck on the highway with the wind behind me and MDS enabled while going down a slight downhill grade. At 65mph I was getting 19.1 mpg and at 70mph I was getting 17.5mpg. On perfectly flatland with zero wind the best I got was 16.1mpg. I have an 08 QC 5.7L with 20's and 3:92 gears and synthetic oil and a K&N air filter. I don't believe for one second 23mpg unless you've got a 6cyl
