Oil Change
It's almost always $7.20 a qt. when I get it at Advance Auto except the first time I bought it. I was going to do oil in my Jeep GC a little over a year ago, went to Advance to pick up Mobil 1 like always and the RP was on sale, buy one get one. So it netted out to $3.60 a qt. Bastards! Got me hooked on RP! Never seen it go on sale since...
I have Mobil 1 and actually thinking of switchin back to Dino oil! I have the lifetime powertrain warranty, so what do I car if I get a blown motor at 100kmi! Heck, I'll then get a new one. Putting synthetic in there is just saving Chrysler money in the long run, unless you don't have the warranty? Food for thought
i think dino vs synthetic evens out in the end. dino youll do your change at 3k intervals. syntehtic youll double that for double the money. so its about the same wouldnt you say? unless you have free oil changes why bother going to teh dealer to have them done? it does not void your warranty if you choose to do your own oil changes as long as you keep receipts for yor oil change supplies and you document them in your manual.
Chrysler may not be around to honor they're "lifetime warranty" lol
Actually, I just stopped by the local Carquest. Their house brand FULL synthetic is only $3.29 qt!! It is manufactured by Ashland Oil Co, so it's basically Valvoline synthetic. Needless to say, I'm running full synthetic in my truck as soon as I get home to do my oil change!

I had a 175 HP Ficht fuel injected Evinrude outboard on my bass boat that I bought new and paid for a 5 year extended warranty. OMC Corp (parent company of Evinrude) declared bankruptcy and was eventually bought by Bombardier (parent company of Sea Doo). Warranty was bye-bye before the engine was 2 years old as Bombardier refused to honor any warranties obtained prior to their take-over.
Maybe it'd be a good idea to take the best care of a huge investment like a truck as well as you possibly can for longevity.
Just more food for thought...
That's assuming there still is a Chrysler when you blow that engine! Even if they are forced to declare bankruptcy, it's possible you could find yourself without being able to obtain a major warranty repair.

I just did an oil change, went from whatever they had in it on the lot and put some rp and a new filter, been in one day so i dont have a say in how its doin. it does seem to idle better. I was gonna do amsoil but my father in law is a big dog at napa so i get a discount and they didnt have amsoil in the store. where to look for this amsoil? im changing everything next time round, differentials, tranny, and engine.
