Question 2004/4.7L/70k miles need a coolant change

Good evening gentleman,

I just have a quick question. I have about 70K on my truck and I know I should probably change my coolant soon. I replaced an upper radiator hose on my 2004 4.7 Ram and replaced some coolant. I had the wonderful idea to pull the peacock valve to drain as much fluid as I could but barely got any out. I took it out and some was flowing very slowly then stopped all together. I don't know if the hole got clogged or what? I want to do a drain and refill and not a flush. I don't want the chemical flush because I don't want to burn anything or have the chemicals eat away at anything and don't want to use TAP water to flush because of the minerals etc. After replacing the hose and some coolant with distilled water I noticed the truck is running a little cooler according to the gauge so now I want to drain and refill as much as possible.
Does anyone know what the stealer would charge for a drain and refill if I brought the coolant and distilled water? Or does anyone know another way to drain and refill that doesn't involve the peacock valve. Thanks for your time!!

The dealer will charge for everything. Nothing is free in this world bub. A flush doesn't mean they put chemical through your system, but rather flush all of the old fluid out of the block and heads! A simple drain and fill only get 70% of the coolant as the rest is inside the engine. Most quick lube places offer flushes for a reasonable amount and all it does is push the old fluid out while pumping in the new fluid. Your coolant should be good for 100kmi, but if it has turned a brownish color than it's time for change.

I didn't think I was trying to get something free? Must be a misunderstanding. Bub I love it, Im going to call you wolverine lol. I dont want a flush because I am of the drain and refill idea; they want 150.00 to do a chemical flush. I am just asking how much round about 70-80 bucks if I bring my own mopar HOAT coolant and distilled water for a drain and refill any dodge techs or service managers out there??

Is there no other way to drain the coolant system besides the peacock valve, can I take off the lower coolant hose and drain as such? Does the engine have coolant plugs that allow draining??

Thanks again for all replies!
