Aux Lights In new location?
So, I see a ton of posts here about the hella 500's behind the grilles of Rams, however, everytime I see and read the posts, I see people mount them in the lower portion of the grille. Before I found this forum, shortly after I first got my truck, I was using a different forum for a while, where I saw Raider J's truck, and I thought the idea of the lights behind the grille was really awesome.. the only thing, was that I thought it would look better up in the grille, so I fabricated a way to mount my aux lights in the upper part of my grille. IMO it looks alot better then in the bottom half. Anyways, it took a while to try to find a way to mount them good, but ever since I did I've had absolutely no issues. I have wired them to a seperate toggle and I treat them as high beams. I will try to get pictures up later today, however, I'm just wondering if anyone else has done this? I have complete strangers with pickups asking me all the time where I got the lights, how I did it, if they could do it to their truck, and complimenting them. If anyone else has done this, can I see some pictures too?
pics!!!!!! i personally love them in the lower half but maybe because ive really never seen them up high.
i always have my hellas on with hibeams and lowbeams haha, i just love the look. mine are aimed low as to not blind anyone and slighter towards center.

that's what i was thinking. driving lights on the bottom (so don't blind people) and pencil beams on the top.

pencil beams and driving beams are the same, so if you already have the driving beams on bottom (depending how this upper light mount works and how big of a light you can put there) you could switch them to the upper and get some fog pattern (spread beam) lights for the bottom. then when they were all on it would look badass and you could see everything, might drain the battery pretty quick though if your truck wasnt running.
do you think all of that would strain the alternator?
