Hi guy's and girl's

I'm new to this site and to the Ram world, I just got a 04 ram Hemi 4x4 4dr auto, was wondering if anyone can give me the low down on any problems or concerns I should look at before I have any problems. My truck has 89000km on it.

I'm looking to get in spring a lift kit bigger wheels, some engine bolt ons, ie: cold air intake, throttle spacer, tune up, exhaust.

Any infor would be great .
Thanks Regert

congrats on your ride. AS long as you keep up with maintenance, it will be no problem.

PPl on here on forum will be here if you need the help.

You may be addicted to modding.

The '04s are pretty problem free if the previous owner made any attempt whatsoever at keeping up with scheduled maintenance.
Single biggest common problem IMO is the LSD if your 4x4 is so equipped. The vast majority fail and grenade, taking the other rear axle components out with it. Keep an eye out for broken pieces on the magnet when changing the rear differential fluid.
Other than that most other issues will be wear & tear type stuff that start to go as you get up there in mileage. Ball joints, EGR valves & that kind of stuff. Also plan on cleaning the throttle body out soon, the Hemi is notorious for clogging them up resulting in poor performance and lousy fuel economy.

So far I love the truck, I got ride of the garbage can and reycling box and put on a loud muffler and double tailpipes out one side. I've noticed when I'm crusing around 120km/h I have to use alot of throttle to keep it going so it's never in the last gear in the tranny(lock up convertor) unless I'm going down hill, feels like I'm towing something??? Anything I should look at??Thanks again

yeah...............you probably have 3:55 gears in the diff.
If your running 20's with this set up, they can be dogs.
Upgrade your gear front and rear in your 4x4 to 4:56's and you will get better fuel economy around town with a LOT more pep and get up and go.
Al.

I do have 3.55 posi with 17" wheels, not sure if I might be having a tranny issue or maybe I need a computer flash? Not sure if there might of been a upgrade. In the new year I will be sending it to the stealer to get them to check it out.

Thank you Regert
