Default Cold weather intake/throttle problems

I have an 03 1500 5.7 and this is the third winter in a row that I have had a problem with it. It seems that at least once a winter when the temperature gets below 0 I get ice in the intake and throttle body and it causes the throttle to become unresponsive. I get no power and when I come to a stop the engine dies. Each time I've taken it in the dealer has said there is moisture getting into the intake, yet doesn't tell me how, or how I might avoid this. Just happened again this morning, however this time I'm taking it to my regular mechanic so we'll see what he says. Anyone else heard about this or have this happen to them? I love my truck, but I'm really starting to get tired of this.

That is my question to. Stock airbox with K&N filter or a complete K&N CAI?

If just the filter I would also just put the stock filter back in for a couple months this winter and see what happens.

weird that your getting that much moisture in there . i have had my cai in through an entire winter with plenty of 0 degree nights with no problems. never any ice at all. i just dont understand how enough moisture to cause icing would even get in there stock or aftermarket. just doesnt make sense to me. there would really have to be a considerable amount of water/moisture in there to ice up enough and cause problems. im stumped
