Default Replacing front drive shaft

just wondering how hard of a job it is to replace the front drive shaft. The one that goes from the transfer case to the passenger side wheel. Not sure the technical name for it. Wondering if i could do this in a weekend? thanks in advance

i think maybe your thinking of the cv axle? goes from the front end to the wheel...anyways its entirely possible to do in a weekend..but i would deffinatly get a chiltons or haynes and make sure you have all the tools to do the job...nothing more frustrating then not having the right tool for the job...good luck

does anyone know if the small splined shaft that comes outta the front differential towards the passenger side, is that connected to the internals? i need to replace that, but dont want to have to mess with the internals
