Death wobble/vibration

vibration at its worst at 35-40mph..shakes the passenger seat. Worse on a chip seal road and also the rear bounces a little on uneven surfaces. It can be worse at different times so is not constant. I have had the U joints replaced, driveshaft balanced, discs machined front and rear, tried different wheels and tires.
Any other ideas as its very very frustrating???

First start with the tires and wheels. Are they all properly balanced? Check to make sure all of the wheel weights are still on. How often do you rotate the tires? What kind of tires do you have? Are all the lug nuts intact and properly torqued?
How is your alignment? If you're driving, and let go of the wheel, does it pull to either side? What about when you're braking, does it pull to either side? Is your steering wheel centered? Has the truck been any accidents that could have bent the frame or axle mounts? How many miles do you have on the truck? It could be worn out shocks causing the coils and springs to bounce.
Next go after more specific things. Jack up each corner and place on jack stands. Make sure they are sturdy. You can do the front and back seperatly if you don't have enough stands. With the tires of the ground, grab the tire and pull side to side, and up to down. You're checking for any wiggle room. There should be zero wiggle. If you find wiggle, start checking tie rod ends, hub bearings, etc.
If you haven't found anything by now, make sure the truck is stable, and crawl underneath. Start checking a all suspension bushings that could possibly be wore out. Check the tranny mount (connects the tranny to crossmember), and check the motor mounts to make sure they aren't wore out.
Make sure you're absolutely sure the tires and wheels are properly balanced first. Let us know what you find.

hi I have tried different wheels so I can rule them out
Shocks seem fine, Leaf spring rear, it does it with the engine off so I would say mounts are fine, truck has 16000 miles on it, been aligned by 2 different companies, took an axle out because it had a bit of run out had that straightend and faced off....Been through the whole front suspension but really believe the problem is from the trans back. Replaced the centre driveshaft bearing and support. What is tricky is that it can be worse at different times.

I also have this same problem. the vibe comes in between 38-42mph some times its worse than other times. I also replaced wheels, tires, shocks, now that i think about it...I think it started to be more of an issue after the dealer replaced rear axle (c clip club) do you think it could be from the rear end housing? IM pretty sure its coming from the rear because I can feel it in the seat. not the steering wheel. and its when I go down the road not when im stopping. any info would be great on this??
it cant be any part of the suspension, because if it was in the front end, it would be felt in the steering wheel. I also changed the ball joints and completely checked the front end. I had a suspension specialist check the suspension, alignment, bushings, hubs, bearings ect... the specialist and a mech. at a dealership said the issue should be in the rear of the truck since the vibration is felt so specific in the seat/floor of the truck. now the 70k warr. is up so Im hoping to stumble across the cause of the issue befor I pay major $$$ to have the dealership diagnose it

Check the tires and wheels good, and make sure they haven't thrown any weights off. Also make sure the tires aren't cupping. My jeep once had the shakes so bad. I swore it was in the drivetrain, because of the way you could feel it in the cab. It felt like it was directly underneath the center console. I checked everything, and even replaced the rubber tranny mount. It turned out to be the tires. I had them balanced, and they were cupped really bad. One tire took 4 ounces of wieght to balance.
After rebalancing it ran fine for a while, and then the tires started to cup again. I replaced them with Mickey T's, and now it rides smooth as silk. I also rotate the tires everytime I change the oil on it now.

For sure!!!! Mickey T's are a cure for any ailing problems you might have. Bad credit, Mickey T's. Broken arm, Mickey T's. Divorce, Mickey T's. The list could go on and on. I prefer the MTZ variety. They seem to do the trick.
