E-Brake / Parking Brake Not Releasing Completely
I've got a 2006 1500 4x4 QC Laramie that I've owned for a year.
This summer while it was still on warranty, I brought it in to the dealership because the parking brake wouldn't release fully when I pulled the release lever. I always had to push the pedal up with my foot to get the light to go off. That, and the tension when the brake was applied didn't seem to be very strong.
The dealer fixed this on their second attempt by "adjusting the ebrakes". I didn't ask for more detail because I figured it might be fixed for good. Heh.
Well, it's 1200 miles out of warranty and wouldn't you know it, the same problem is cropping up again.
Based on the info I can research, it shouldn't be the brake cable tension but the brakes themselves. The cable tension shouldn't need frequent adjustment. Not sure how true it is, but that's what I can find.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
