Wiper problem
this afternoon when i went too turn on my wipers and then turned them off again the wipers continued on for maybe a minute and when i shut it down 15 minutes later and they still kept running on , now mind you today was fairly cold -17 degrees i don't know if the cold affected anything or if this is a wiring issue.
has anyone else encountered this problem located in mid western Ontario if this helps anyone.

Yes, I've had the same trouble before. There are 2 relays in the power dist center (fuse box) under the hood, and an end switch in the wiper motor itself. The relays are interdependent with each other. One sets the delay through the NC condition of the other. I first went to the switch in the motor, yah, you have to remove the cowl and wiper arms and all that to get to it, cleaned the runners in the switch and still had the problem, then I changed out both relays and had success. The relays can be purchased at autozone, but you'll need to bring in one of them for cross referencing.
All the relays in the box are the same so you can grab anyone of them and get the right one.
Oh, yah---the end switch in the wiper motor signals the computer to stop the wiper motor through the relays----what a mess----but I guess you have to figure out a way to engineer your way to brilliance----sometimes the wheel just doesn't need to be re-invented
Good Luck!!!

were you able to replace the end switch in the motor? i have the issue where when running on delay, the wipers will just constantly run like the switch is set to lo, then, it will go back and work for a while, then run, etc, etc. Also, every once on a blue moon, i will turn the wipers on to delay and they won't work at all until i turn them on lo, then off, then back to delay. i've swapped the relays in the fuse box for another one, since just about half of them are the same relay. still had the problem. i'm guessing its my end switch.
