Default havent been around in a while, but ive got a lift question :)

hey guys and gals, its that time.... i need new tires. As it sits, I have a 2004 1500 QC 2wd, rims(20"), tires, and height are all stock. I've got an opportunity to purchase some 35x12.50 BFG MT's that have about 10k on them for a good price. I'd have to downsize rim to a 17" i believe, but the more important question is how high would i have to go to clear them? According to the lift companies, i'd need at least a 6" suspension which sounds like bs to me. Ive seen posts on here where people have just a leveling kit and are clearing 35's. I was looking at a leveling kit and possibly a 2" body lift, im trying to be as cost effective as possible. any suggestions?

Actually a 2.5" level will clear them with the right backspaced wheel. But you'll have issues on tight turning and bumps. Also, you'll be hard pressed to find a 2" body lift. Do a level kit and a PA 3" body lift, will look great & be about 1/4 the price of a 6" suspension lift
