+1

At least there would be a lot less mess to deal with, plus that setup is already setup for the HEAVY engine.

i wanted to tell you that you have one slight problem about converting hemi to cummins.... the fact about the cummins engine, it is much much heavier than hemi and you have to change the frame to 2500 frame because it is much stronger than the 1500 and it will hold cummins engine keeps it tongue up if you know what i am talking about... I am thinking of buying 2006 dodge ram 3500 mega cab cummins with no dually lol in probably three years later from now on...

I would do all the welding in tig with the heat WAY LOW i wouldnt tough a Mig to it at all.. Good Luck

If you are working on the exiesting frame and modify it there will be no inspection needed unless he opens his mouth and offers the information up. That's like telling your insurance company and DMV that you removed your V6 engine and put in a V8 engine. You just don't do that stuff for the obvious reasons.
Also, .000001"??? What???...lol
1 millionth of an inch for specs....lmao Chrysler doesn't even set those standards from the factory. That's just insane. I wouldn't even expect .001"

Frame sectioning shouldn't be a big deal with good measurements and the right tools.

Engine weight is a big deal though; a wet 5.9L is over 1,100 LBS. Do a HD SFA swap while you're at it.

Personally I think doing this to a 2007 is just a dumb idea.

Whay not just buy a Roadworthy Dually and then shorten it. It would be much easier.
I just don't like Duallies for any kind of dialy driver.
They wear more tires, harder on the brakes, and the gas is worse, they are wider for clearances like going through drive through windows, rougher on the road...etc....
Most people who buy duallies don't need them. Duallies are meant for 5th wheel towing on excessive weight. That's it. Any other reason you would only need a single axle.

Doing it becuase it may look neat isn't a good enough reason IMO.

this is true, but i was hoping i could use my reg cab short box i got now and build it from there. But i might be going in a different direction now, but time will tell after the snow melts and i can get into the auctions. As far as measurements go, i worked as an autobody technician a few years and let me tell ya at least 90% of vehicles on the road are NOT square at all.. we make them square and thats when we run into problems as technicians. But i may have found a 07 duely with the cummins for a decent price, has some major box side damage, but i just wanna be sure the frame isnt torqued and il pick it up
